How to obtain the PlaysForSure™ Logo

To fully participate in and benefit from the PlaysForSure™ logo program, there are several steps that need to be completed in order to qualify to use the logo on your devices, please follow the steps outlined below.

1. License Agreement Signed Up with Microsoft

Contact Microsoft to complete all the appropriate Microsoft licenses and agreements for your device or service. Depending on the type of devices you make, the following license agreements need to be signed prior to submitting any product or service for the Logo Tests

2. Self Test Your Product

After the PlaysForSure™ Logo License Agreement is executed, LTK (Logo Test Kits) shall be received by e-mail or can be downloaded from the PlaysForSure™ Web site You are required to self test your product(s) by running the test kit against your products(s). Once the product(s) passes the self-test, you can submit your device to Allion for verification testing. Allion offers a separated service; PlaysForSure™ Logo Pre-Test service, to help customers generate the test log.

3. PlayForSure™ Test Agreement Signed Up

A PlaysForSure™ Test Agreement should be signed and returned to Allion before testing begins. The Test Agreement is by customer base, subsequent submission is not required once Allion has a signed PlaysForSure™ Test Agreement from your company already.

4: Online Registration

Online registration can be accessed at Allion's e-Service website. It’s required and must be completed prior to submitting your package to Allion. A product test ID number will be automatically generated and an Allion staff member will respond to your registration when the application is received.

5: Send the Following Items to Allion

1. Three identical final products with all related accessories (connection cables, AC adapter, cradle, firmware, software etc.) for each submission. Include at least one manual and one product (final) package.

2. One CD-R containing:

* Soft copies of all self test logs
* PlaysForSure™ Logo Program Hardware Test Request Form & Submission Checklist
* A soft copy of the submission’s formal USB-IF test report (peripheral - device only) from one of the authorized testing facilities listed at www.usb.org (for PD/MD submissions only)
* A soft copy of the submission's DLNA (self) test results (for ND submissions only).
* A product manual (if available in soft copy)
* Firmware with complete flashing instructions (as required)

3. One signed hard copy of the PlaysForSure™ Logo Program Hardware Test Request Form 100% filled out

4. Payment

 

6: Verification Test at Allion

Once the submission package is received, Allion will begin testing according to the verification types. Allion has a dedicated management team to handle your submission, ensuring expedited testing services are provided. Test results will be sent to both Microsoft and the customer upon test completion.
