PCI Express Compliance Testing

Now PCIe products can be tested at Allion. Allion is capable of performing the PCIe technology tests, based on the PCI Express test program. Allion performs the same tests that PCI-SIG conducts at compliance workshops.

What is PCI Express?

PCI Express (PCIe) is the latest I/O interconnect technology substitute for the former version - PCI provides higher bandwidth. As more requirements for bandwidth from I/O devices are made, PCI has to update to PCI Express, improving ductility and reducing restriction.

PCI Express Standard Testing

Test Categories:

1. Electrical testing: Examines platform and add-in card signal quality.
2. Configuration testing: Examines configuration space in PCI Express devices.
3. Link protocol testing: Tests device behavior for link-level protocol.
4. Transaction protocol testing: Tests device behavior for transaction level protocol.
5. Platform BIOS testing: Tests platform BIOS ability to recognize and configure PCI Express devices.

Re-test
If initial tests fail, re-testing expenses will be lower than the initial test.

Reporting
Reports are prepared for different purposes in every testing stage. Problem reports and status report will be issued. All the reports allow clients to know the testing progress at all times.
