Allion launches world’s first ever Third-Party ExpressCard Technology Compliance Program with the recent success of hosting ExpressCard Plugfest #5 for PCMCIA in Taipei, Taiwan. Together with our opening of PCI Express® compliance testing service, Allion is also the USB-IF certified test lab offering unique one stop solution to help you quickly and effectively get your product compliant.
Starting from November 1, PCMCIA member companies will be able to use this new program to test ExpressCard products for inclusion on the ExpressCard Resource Directory and the privilege to use the “Orange Rabbit” ExpressCard logo.

What is ExpressCard Technology?

The ExpressCard standard is developed by (The Personal Computer Memory Card International Association; PCMCIA), use serial data interface to substitute for PCI parallel bus interface of PC card. This standard can speed up the development of mobile telecommunication, data storage, I/O, multimedia and pluggable card and brings more strength to the new generation desktop and notebook, with smaller size, higher speed, lower cost and less power.

Any system that incorporate PCI Express and USB will be able to take advantage of the ExpressCard standard since ExpressCard technology uses the latest PCI Express and USB 2.0 interface to connect its application into the system.
