The
combinations of the primary colors of RGB (Red, Green and Blue)
create the basis for the millions of colors. The definition
of color varies between different manufacturers when different
models of TV or monitor display are produced. Allion newly developed
sRGB Logo certification program is designed specifically for
color standardization of sRGB (Standard RGB) which was invented
jointly by Microsoft and Hewlett Packard. The objective of this
particular service is to improve and elevate the level of color
standard for our clients to be more competitive within the industry.
Allion has developed
a set of tests designed to show that a specificOEM display meets
the sRGB specification. An industry consortium led by HP and
Microsoft promulgated this specification. The specification
is intended to provide a practical standard for transferring
color information between digital devices. The standard is catered
for the transfer of data from input devices to output devices
of all types but this logo program is intended for display devices
only. Allion is not redefining the sRGB specification nor did
it have any input into the creation of the specification. Allion
is measuring the display quality and comparing it to the sRGB
specification. The aim of sRGB color space is to complement
the current color management strategies by enabling a third
method of handling color within operating systems, device drivers
and the Internet that utilizes a simple and robust device independent
color definition. This will save time and money to provide good
quality and backward compatibility with system and device. So
there is a need to merge the many standard and non-standard
RGB display spaces into a single standard RGB color space. To
check the sRGB quality of the display has become a very important
thing. |

Today's market calls for
different display technologies. Consumers use a variety of applications,
which demand higher performance displays. Applications such as: Microsoft
Office, Game, Paint and high-end graphics, 3D Tool, and for certain
testing applications call for such displays. Allion has defined a
reasonable "test specification" with high-level analysis
equipment, such as the Minolta CS-1000A and QuantumData 802R. Products
which pass all test items will be granted the Allion sRGB Logo which
can be used by the manufacturer to show end users that the display
has been tested by an independent third-party lab. The passing results
will determine if a Allion sRGB Seal or Allion sRGB PRO Seal will
be received. To be certified for sRGB PRO Seal, the monitor needs
more Color Gamut Space (5%), better Contrast Rate (43%), etc. and
shows the monitor has achieved a higher level of quality on the sRGB
standard.
