Announcing by the Intel-affiliated Digital Content Protection, LLC (DCP, LLC), Allion Shanhai, after Allion Taiwan, Japan, and Shenzhen (China), has also become the Authorized Test Center of HDCP 1.4 and 2.2. Now, we are able to provide a more localized testing service in the Great China Region.

High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), launched by DCP, LLC, is a digital encryption system that used to protect digitalized contents, including pictures, movies, and audios. This system prevents digital contents from unauthorized interception or being copied when traveling across different interfaces, such as DVI, HDMI, Displayport, MHL, Wi-Fi Miracast. The protection mechanisms of HDCP include:

  • The authenticated HDCP receivers are able to immediately connect to other HDCP transmitters. The system would also verify whether the transmitters launch receivable signals.
  • DCP, LLC would revoke the authorizations of invalid HDCP receivers.
  • While playing the encrypted contents, HDCP devices (both transmitters and receivers) would constantly verify each other’s signal.
  • The Locality Check feature of HDCP 2.2 can prohibit sharing the protected contents over long distance.

In addition, both transmitters and receivers should be HDCP certified, so that users can avoid issues such as lower resolution formatting and playback errors. Allion is authoirzed to perform HDCP certification tests for HDMI(*), MHL, DisplayPort, and Wi-Fi Miracast specifications. Therefore, besides the localized service that can accelerate the testing process of your products, our engineering teams, specialized in different fields, can further provide interoperability and compatibility test/consulting, preventing the issues that might be caused by transmitting signals via various interfaces and devices.  (*)As subcontractor of Sony ATC
