Allion is accredited as the world’s first 8K Association (8KA) Authorized Test Center (ATC) to launch 8K UHD Certification testing and consulting services. Allion is also the only ATC in the world which provides both 8K UHD and 4K UHD Certification tests.
8K Ultra-high Definition (UHD) delivers an unprecedented viewing experience. 8K UHD has a resolution of up to 7680*4320, providing 4 times the resolution of 4K UHD and 16 times the resolution of Full HD. Aside from the resolution specifications, the 8KA has also specified that 8K products should support HDMI 2.1, input frame rates of 24/30/60 fps, maximum display luminance above 600 nits, and high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) codec. Under the 8KA certification program, vendors will be able to use the 8KA Certified logo to show the verified high-performance characteristics of display products, such as TV and monitors.
The 8KA is a non-profit organization consisting of the leading companies in the AV ecosystem, including content creators, technology suppliers, display semiconductor makers, panel manufacturers, and the world’s biggest TV brands. Through the joint development of 8K technology and specifications, the 8KA helps build the 8K market. As of May 2021, the 8KA has 29 members and will grow in time.
