VESA released the DisplayHDR 1.2 certification program on May 7, 2024. After undergoing several revisions, the updated test specification sets tighter requirements for color accuracy than the previous DispalyHDR 1.1 spec. Details of the updated content and test requirements can be found on the VESA’s official website:

While DisplayHDR 1.2 is now available for certification, VESA has provided manufacturers with a transition period to preserve products that are already in development. Display products can be certified under the DisplayHDR 1.1 spec until May 2025, and laptop products until May 2026.
