Tokyo, Japan – May 22, 2025 – Allion Japan, a provider of comprehensive third-party solutions including certification testing, quality verification, and consulting service, is pleased to announce that VTT:VOLKSWAGEN Group Technical Representative Tokyo (“VTT”) has adopted Allion’s AI robotics test automation solution, “ART”.
“ART” integrates a robotic arm and AI recognition technologies with Allion’s proprietary Smart Wizard Software platform, enabling functions such as robotic arm and finger control, visual recognition, audio recognition, automated phone control, and more. It supports various testing including functional testing, interoperability testing, usability testing, and user simulation for both head unit on bench and in-vehicle. The solution addresses a wide range of testing needs with no-code scripting and intuitive interface. It features an automated log/report system and can be fully integrated with HIL control systems. This significantly improves test efficiency and coverage while enhancing consistency and reliability throughout the testing processes, especially for Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV).

VTT said, “While development times are getting shorter as vehicle concepts and technical complexity increase, there have been challenges in terms of the reliability, consistency, and execution efficiency of test environments and conditions, as well as manual testing. Allion’s solution to automate the verification process provides essential support for this challenges.”
Hideaki Nakayama, President of Allion Japan declared “With ART, we’ve been able to leverage our years of golden test methodologies in advanced testing technologies, extensive experience in validation, in-depth know-how, and problem analysis consulting. By integrating AI and automation, ART significantly enhances both testing efficiency and product safety. We are honored to work closely with Volkswagen Group Japan in shaping the future of driving — making it safer, more automated, and more valuable.”
Allion will continue to provide advanced quality validation and consulting services to support the automotive industry’s transition into the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) era and contribute to the future of automotive manufacturing.
