The HDMI Forum will officially launch the Ultra96 HDMI® Cable（HDMI Category 4 Cable）certification program.
Allion Labs is among the first HDMI Forum Authorized Testing Centers (ATCs) approved for the program, and now offers Ultra96 HDMI® Cable testing and certification services.
The HDMI Forum has officially named the HDMI Category 4 Cable the Ultra96 HDMI® Cable, making its 96Gbps bandwidth capability easier for users to recognize.
In addition to supporting up to 96Gbps of audio/video transmission bandwidth, the Ultra96 HDMI® Cable also supports eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) audio transmission.
For now, the HDMI Forum is accepting Category 4 Cable certification applications only for Wire Cables; AOCs (Active Optical Cables) are not yet eligible for Category 4 Cable certification.The key changes in HDMI Category 4 Cable certification compared with Category 3 Cable are as follows:

The launch of Category 4 Cable certification marks a new stage for HDMI Cables in terms of high-bandwidth transmission and signal quality requirements.
