High School Student Did Not Hear an Approaching Train, Resulting in an Irreversible Tragedy:
A heartbreaking accident also occurred in New York State. A high school student walking near railroad tracks while listening to music through headphones failed to notice an approaching train and its warning signals. The student was struck and killed. Police warned the public that listening habits that block surrounding sound can become an invisible but serious hazard in high-risk areas.
