Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question: If an HDMI device supports 4K@60Hz resolution, which HDMI version does it correspond to? Can it claim compliance with HDMI® 2.2?
Answer: 4K@60Hz was originally introduced as a core feature of the HDMI 2.0 specification.
The prevailing official standard is HDMI 2.2, which comprehensively consolidates and supersedes all specifications and features from HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.1. Consequently, an HDMI® device supporting 4K@60Hz can officially claim HDMI 2.2 compliance, provided it has fully passed the required certification test suite.
Question: Once an HDMI product is certified, is it mandatory to print the HDMI LOGO on the chassis or packaging?
Answer: No, it is not mandatory.
Passing official ATC compliance testing is strictly required, but certified Adopters retain discretion over whether to apply the HDMI LOGO to device enclosures or retail packaging.
-
Incentive: Accurately displaying official logos qualifies adopters for preferential royalty discounts.
-
Compliance Guideline: If printed, all proportions, dimensions, colors, and legal notices must strictly comply with the official Trademark and Logo Usage Guidelines.
Question: Can the Allion AJSC-1x fixture perform FRL electrical compliance testing? Does it require an additional license?
Answer: Yes.
The Allion AJSC-1x fully supports FRL electrical compliance testing, including FRL 24G measurements.
If executing the HFB1-9 test item for HDMI 2.2 Source devices, an optional Cable-ID software license must be procured. For customized test fixture configuration assessments, please contact the Allion technical consulting team.
